About DPYK
How to Drug Proof Your Kids® (DPYK) has been run around the UK since 2003 and before then in Australia where 22,000 parents have attended the course. The programme was introduced into the UK in 2003 by the charity Care for the Family.
The DPYK north devon team of local presenters have been running the course across North Devon since 2006. The issue of drug and alcohol misuse is never likely to go away, and we are here for the long term with a heart to come alongside parents and support them. Our initial vision is to reach and support every parent in North Devon and Torridge with children either at, or about to enter, secondary school.
We have linked with many schools, including secondary schools in Ilfracombe, Braunton, South Molton, Barnstaple, and Bideford to offer at least one course during each academic year to parents there. We also run other community based courses and would be happy to discuss options for running a course in your community if you are willing to find at least 12 parents to attend. Use the Contact Us page to send us an email.
Supporters of the work of DPYK North Devon include - Devon and Cornwall Police, Safer North Devon, Lyn Lions Club as well as local schools including Ilfracombe College, Braunton Community College, Park School Barnstaple, South Molton Community College, Bideford College, West Buckland School, St Helen's C of E Primary School Abbotsham, Orchard Vale Primary School and many others.
